I totally forgot to mention that I now know what it is like to be one of those little dogs that travel around in models’ handbags!

Yes – not that I am sufficiently pampered or exist entirely on a diet of beef carpaccio or whatever these little beasts eat, but rather that I have been inside a very large moving handbag – the gigantic Hermès Kelly bag in Brown Thomas, Dublin.

The Kellydoscope was unveiled last week and is a huge replica of the original Kelly bag, standing at 3 metres tall, yet made to the same exacting standards as the regular editions.

The coolest thing about it is that you can go inside the bag and watch a series of three short films, with the scenes all shot from the view point of the bag’s interior.

During the film, as the bag actually physically moves about, you will feel how it is to be thrown into the basket of a bike or onto a table top, while your owner (no doubt someone fabulously wealthy and nonchalant) swigs champagne at a garden party or picnic in some romantic location. You will see the beautiful interior of your owner’s residence or some other lovely place and see the handsome man take her hand leading her to a marvellous soiree.

Brown Thomas Dublin is the location for the world exclusive of the Kellydoscope so check it out before it leaves after this Sunday 14th November – no doubt swinging on the arm of some gorgeous giantess.
